General Ultrasound

Coastal Radiology offers a full range of ultrasound scanning procedures.

Ultrasound is a non-radiation diagnostic medical imaging technique using sound waves to visualise muscles, tendons, lumps, lymph nodes, internal body parts, to capture their characteristics and shape.

These scans are performed by highly-trained sonographers who are registered with the Medical Radiation Technologist Board (MRTB) working under the supervision of senior Horizon radiologists.

We are experts in pregnancy ultrasound, general abdomen / renal imaging, musculoskeletal, vascular DVT, carotid, leg arteries and vein mappings, scrotum, breast and gynaecology.

If there is a problem we will do our best to find it.

Our scans are reported by Dr Bruce Allen and he is a very experienced NZ qualified Radiologist.

Typical scan time: 20 - 30 minutes.
